MY ARTISTIC PHILOSOPHY
In my opinion, an impactful artist must master self-analysis and become comfortable with running toward instead of away from challenging epiphanies, unanswered questions, and unpleasant truths. I affirm the role art plays in shaping society and its power to jolt flawed systems. Great artists push the creative envelope; they bend genres into life changing experiences, ultimately confirming that creative expression is a gateway to empathy. Thus, my artistic content combines poetry with various artistic genres to highlight the overlooked aspects of our human existence.
MY ARTISTIC PERSPECTIVE
"The artist is multidimensional. We live next to our neighbors and interact with our coworkers on a daily basis. We subscribe to the same television shows and reflect on the same news impacting our society with much of the same responses. A poet, however, does not simply live within an environment; they simultaneously live outside of it, being both a part of the machine but also an external observer of its intricacies."
